Her Majesty Queen Sirikit is regarded as mother to all Thai people and her birthday, the 12th August, is celebrated as Mother’s Day and observed as a Thai national holiday Thai people unanimously commemorate this day because of the queen's benevolence towards the needy and poor in the nation.
